عن أوكاك للنشر: الفكرة والمشروع
نحن الأستراليون، نزهو بمجتمعنا كأحد أكثر المجتمعات المتعددة الثقافات حيوية وازدهاراً حول العالم.
عند التجول في أي من شوارعنا النابضة بالحياة، لن تمر دون رؤية مواطن ظل أسلافه يعيشون في هذه الأرض المباركة بشكل متصل منذ عشرات الآلاف من السنين جنباً إلى جنب شخص وصل للتو هذا الأسبوع فقط.
إن الملامح المتعددة، والسحنات، والوجوه، والألوان، والذكريات المختلفة، والأديان والمعتقدات المتنافسة نحو الفضيلة، والأعراق، والتجارب المتنوعة، والأطعمة والأبهرة الشهية، واللغات الحاملة للأفكار والذكريات والحكايات والمرح على سبيل المثال لا الحصر هي بعض من الوجود الإنساني الزاهي في الزوايا الأربع لهذه القارة.
أستراليا هي واحدة من أقدم دول العالم بيد أنها الأكثر شباباً على الإطلاق بسبب سياسة الهجرة الرحبة في السنوات ال 50 الماضية. إن الصورة المعاصرة لهذا البلد تتشكل من حصيلة مساهمات كل هذا الجمع من المواطنين الذين شعارهم هو فلتتقدمي يا أستراليا الزاهية.
للمشاركة في هذه الفسيفساء، تم تأسيس أوكاك للنشر للمشاركة بفعالية وحيوية في الخطاب وساحة التداول الأستراليين وذلك مع وضع هدفين رئيسيين في الاعتبار:
- تقديم الأدب السائد، والمعرفة، والحكمة، ومعطيات الوضع الراهن المكتوبة باللغة الإنجليزية لجمهور اللغة العربية من خلال الترجمة،
- ولعرض أدب المؤلفين العرب الأستراليين بلغتهم الأولى ضماناً وتعميقاً لاستمرارية واحدة من أقدم وأكثر الحضارات أثراً في بوتقة من مئات اللغات والثقافات الحية نسميها جميعا أستراليا الوطن.
تطمح أوكاك للنشر إلى المساهمة في المشهد الثقافي لأستراليا المعاصرة من خلال تزويد الشباب العربي الأسترالي وكذلك الشباب الناشئ بوسيلة ممكنة ويسيرة للتعبير عن أنفسهم من خلال الشعر، والنصوص التخيلية، وغير التخيلية والمذكرات، وفنون الأدب، تقدم أوكاك للنشر نفسها كترس جديد وطامح للإسهام في الحوار الأسترالي المفعم بالحيوية بين الثقافات الدائر حالياً.

عن الناشر: محمد عثمان إبراهيم
ولد بالسودان وعمل مدرساً وموظفاَُ للعمل الإنساني وإعلامياً وناشطاً سياسياً وإجتماعياً في السودان وإريتريا ومصر.
عقب هجرته إلى استراليا تقلب في عدد من فرص العمل الرائعة التي وفرتها له مدن سيدني وبريسبين وأليس سبرينغز وكانبيرا وبيرث، وعمل صحفياً ومذيعاً في إذاعة إس بي إس ثم مترجماً ومستشاراً إعلامياً ومستشاراً للتعليم العالي في بعض السفارات العربية بالعاصمة الأسترالية كانبيرا.
أتجه بعدها للأعمال التجارية الخاصة وأدار سلسلة من المصالح التجارية الصغيرة ، وتجربة النشر هذه إحدى تلك الأعمال.
حاصل على بكالوريوس الآداب وماجستير الأنثروبولوجيا والتنمية متخصصاً في التنمية والصراعات.
قطع دراسته للحصول على الدكتوراه في علوم الإتصال والإعلام ليتفرغ للعمل والكتابة الصحفية.
كتب في عدد من الصحف السودانية والعربية باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية وترجم عدداً من المقالات .
استخدمت مقالاته في العديد من الكتب والدراسات التي تناولت القضايا السودانية.

أوكاك اسم لبلدة صغيرة في ولاية البحر الأحمر ، شرق السودان ، حيث ظلت مجموعات من قبيلة الهدندوة العريقة تعيش، رغم كل صعاب التاريخ ، منذ عشرات الآلاف من السنوات. كلمة أوكاك هي لقب قبلي غير رسمي يطلق تحبباً ويستخدم بالتبادل مع الاسم الرسمي للبلدة الصغيرة سنكات أوكاك

Different yet happily coexisting faces, features, colours, memories, religions, faiths, races, experiences, cuisines, and languages to name just few things are integral parts of the human existence that immensely present in all the magnificent four corners of this great continent.
To take part in this mosaic,
Okak Publishing is established to actively engage in the Australian current discourse and dynamic debate with two main objectives in
mind:
* To introduce the mainstream literature, knowledge, wisdom, and current affairs written in English to the Arabic language readers through translation, and
* To showcase the literature of Arab Australian authors in their first language and guarantee hence deepening the continuity of one of the most influential civilizations to revive in a crucible of hundreds of languages and cultures we all call homeland Australia.
Okak Publishing is aspiring to contribute to the cultural scene of contemporary Australia.
By providing the established Arab Australian as well as the emerging young ones with a viable mean to express themselves through poetry, fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, and literature, Okak Publishing is bestowing itself as a new wheel in the Australian vivacious intercultural conversation currently in place.

About The Publisher: Mohamed O Ibrahim
Born in Sudan.
Worked as a teacher, humanitarian aid worker, media and political and social activist in Sudan, Eritrea, and Egypt.
After emigrating to Australia, he enjoyed a lot of employment opportunities offered to him in the cities of Sydney, Brisbane, Alice Springs, Canberra & Perth.
He also worked as a Broadcaster Journalist at the SBS Radio, and then as a translator, media advisor, and higher education consultant in some Arab missions in Canberra.
He then turned to private business and ran a series of small businesses, and this publishing experience is one of those ventures.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Anthropology and Development specializing in Development and Conflict.
He interrupted his studies to obtain a PhD in Communication and Media Studies to devote himself to work and writing.
He wrote hundreds of articles and essays published in leading Sudanese newspapers and in Lebanese and Arab highly regarded papers and online outlets.
His articles have been used in many books and studies that dealt with Sudanese issues.
